How do I connect Microsoft Teams to the Confluence Server or Data Center?
You can use Microsoft Teams Confluence Connector by Move Work Forward in two ways:
Uni-directional. With the uni-directional way, all data is stored in your Confluence's database, and you use Incoming Webhook Connector in Microsoft Teams to receive notifications, alerts and reports in a particular Microsoft Teams channel directly from Confluence. You cannot interact with those cards in Microsoft Teams, because data flows only one way from Confluence to Microsoft Teams. This way is the most secure and provides you with more control over your data that is sent outside. The messages are going from your Confluence Server to Microsoft Teams servers directly.
Bi-directional (coming soon). Two-way communication enables data flow in both directions, and not only your team can receive data in Microsoft Teams from Confluence, but also send data to Confluence from Microsoft Teams. Such integration permits more different flows where users can perform some actions in Confluence directly from Microsoft Teams. This way requires to have two apps: a Confluence App/plugin and another is a Microsoft Teams app. The main complexity here is to map user accounts between Microsoft Teams and Confluence. The user mapping is stored in the Move Work Forward secure cloud environment on AWS.
Do you have architecture documented about your 2-way integration?
Yes, it is here.

Yes, it does.
How do I enable the debug mode?
You can enable the debug mode for Microsoft Teams Confluence Connector following this user guide.
How do I revoke my access to Confluence?
To revoke the access, you need to uninstall the Microsoft Teams companion App and in the global settings, execute a disconnect action.
Does the app store the Confluence login details I have entered?
Microsoft Teams Confluence Connector does not receive or store your credentials.
We use Confluence Server/Data Center, and we are curious whether the App stores our information somewhere outside our Confluence.
If you use uni-directional (incoming webhooks) integration Microsoft Teams Confluence Connector for Confluence Server or Data Center, Microsoft Teams Confluence Connector does not store anything outside of your Confluence instance(s).
Otherwise, Microsoft Teams Confluence Connector stores the following information:
the mapping between your Confluence and Microsoft Teams tenants;
the mapping between the Confluence account and the Microsoft Teams account.
Microsoft Teams Confluence Connector persists this information to act on behalf of Microsoft Teams users.
Could I use the Microsoft Teams Confluence Connector without Confluence admin rights?
Definitely, you can use Microsoft Teams Confluence Connector without being the Confluence administrator. However, you may need some help from your Confluence administrator to connect Confluence to your Microsoft Teams organisation and configure the application in some circumstances.
Does everyone within the Microsoft Teams channel see the data I am sharing via Microsoft Teams Confluence Connector?
When the team members reside in a Microsoft Teams channel, they can view all data posted there.
I do not receive notifications from the Microsoft Teams Confluence connector for the Confluence Server/Data Center.
When you have problems with Microsoft Teams Confluence Connector not sending messages to Microsoft Teams you can try the following:
Create a test channel in Microsoft Teams
Create an Incoming Webhook URL
Create a test space/page in Confluence
Set up the most straightforward rule possible on page-created and page-commented events without any additional filters. Use the Incoming Webhook URL you created earlier.
In your test Confluence page create an issue and comment it straight away.
If after those steps you do not receive a notification in Microsoft Teams, it is possible that your Confluence server(s) cannot reach the Internet and Microsoft servers. The easiest way to test this is to open the terminal on your Confluence server and try to post a test message directly to Microsoft Teams https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/platform/webhooks-and-connectors/how-to/connectors-using#setting-up-a-custom-incoming-webhook
As a next step, we advise you to follow up on our documentation related to the troubleshooting and contact us with the log file.

We usually reply within two business days, so please make sure our email has not hit your spam filters. If you haven't seen a reply within 48 hours or it is super urgent - please contact us at support at https://www.moveworkforward.com.
I do not see the Confluence/Jira/Bitbucket Connector Microsoft Teams app in the Apps menu in my Microsoft Teams. How can I install them?
You need to make sure your Microsoft Teams administrator permits you to use 3-rd party applications.
Where do I find the Confluence add-on configuration?
It depends on your permissions in Confluence. When you have sufficient privileges, you can access the following pages:
Global configuration in the System settings (Global admins only).
Space configuration in the Space settings (Global and Space admins only).
Content configuration in the More actions menu (anybody who has access to this content).
User configuration in the user's settings section of Confluence.
Why is the app paid?
We are humans who have families and hobbies, on top of this, we are inspired to provide the best integration between Microsoft Teams and Confluence, which requires time and effort to execute well. Notwithstanding these arguments, we strive to provide excellent customer support.
Is Microsoft Teams Confluence Connector compatible with Confluence Blogs?
Yes, it is.
How can we migrate our configuration from Cloud to Server or from Server to Cloud?
You need to export your data from one Confluence and import it into another. That's a joke. Migration is not so simple to do at the moment. We are working on automated migration, but it is not there yet. Please reach out if you need help.
How do I get help?
Please use our Jira Service Portal (F1) to submit a support request, feature request, or an enquiry. Do not forget to describe your problem in great detail and attach the debug log if possible. We cannot guess about your issues.
How can I extend my trial license?
At this stage, only Confluence Server and Confluence Data Center customers can extend their evaluation licenses. You can do this by completing this form and updating your product license under the "Manage Add-ons" page in the Admin panel.
Is your application secure?
Yes, and we have enrolled in Bug Crowd Bounty program.
How can I suggest an improvement?
Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Only a small number of people within my team will be using the app. Am I able to purchase a license for only these people?
When purchasing an app license, the user tier must match that of Atlassian Confluence. This is a requirement of the Atlassian Marketplace, as detailed in this Atlassian FAQ. Atlassian handles all licensing for Marketplace vendors so we can focus on what is important to us - providing quality software and supporting our customers. As a result, we are unable to modify the licensing to be restricted to specific user groups within a Confluence instance.
I purchased a license for the wrong Move Work Forward app, could you please switch my licenses?
All licensing matters are handled directly through Atlassian, so, unfortunately, there is nothing we can do as vendors to rectify this. Please reach out to sales@atlassian.com and open a ticket directly with Atlassian, they will be able to resolve this for you.
Where do I find my Confluence ID?
The Confluence ID is imprinted on the Global Configuration page in the System settings. Confluence Id is used to map Microsoft Teams and Confluence tenants.
Where do you store your data in the Cloud?
We store data in our secure environment in AWS in the USA. If you have issues with this, please reach out. We are in the progress of adding additional regions: Frankfurt and Sydney.
Why am I receiving the "You have reached the maximum number of Microsoft Teams Confluence Connector for Confluence trial licenses" message?
Atlassian allows customers to trial apps from the Marketplace for 6 months before they require customers to purchase a commercial license.
Receiving this message means that you have reached that maximum amount of free trials for Microsoft Teams Confluence Connector, and are no longer eligible to use the product for free. To continue using Microsoft Teams Confluence Connector, you must purchase a commercial license here.
I see 503 Error, what shall I do?
A 503 error is usually caused by Confluence itself being temporarily down.
There are typically two causes of a 503 error:
Confluence is down or under heavy load. This can be resolved by waiting or contacting your internal Help Desk Team to flag the issue.
Any other app stresses Confluence too much; you need to identify which application causes this performance degradation. If ours - please reach out to us and we will jump on this as the highest priority.
