How to sync comments between Jira and Git platforms

Capybara: GitHub, Azure DevOps for Jira Service Management makes it easy to comment on linked GitHub, GitLab tasks from Jira issues or JSM (Jira Service Management) requests. Comments can be synced from Jira to your Git platform and vice versa.

  1. Navigate to the Jira issue or JSM request with the linked development task.

  2. From the Capybara panel, go to the linked Azure DevOps work item or GitHub/GitLab issue:

  3. Click the three dots and then select Edit notification settings.

  4. This will open the Notification settings below the work item/issue:

The Notifications settings section will also be present when creating a new Azure DevOps work item of GitHub issue.

  1. To sync comments made on Git platform, check the box to Duplicate comments from Git system to this Jira issue.

  2. To sync comments made within Capybara to Azure DevOps,GitHub, and GitLab, check the box Duplicate this Jira issue comments to the Git system.

  3. Save and now comments will sync between platforms, allowing Jira users and developers to communicate on tasks without switching between platforms.
