To use this functionality:

  1. Jira admin needs to set up this integration before.

  2. Microsoft Teams admin needs to consent permissions.

  3. You need to connect your Jira and Microsoft Teams accounts.

To create a discussion channel:

  1. Open the Jira issue you want to create a discussion channel.

  2. Move to the three dots (…) menu.

  3. Click on the Microsoft Teams app.

  4. Login to Microsoft Teams.

  5. Select the team and add the name of the new channel.

  6. Click on Create and navigate to the Microsoft Teams channel.

  7. After the Microsoft Teams channel has been created you can come back to it at any time you wish straight from the Jira issue view screen. Click on Open Microsoft Teams.
